In Russia wooden building has a long history. The Soviet methods of building have nearly destroyed this rich tradition. However in recent decades we are witnessing the revival of wooden architecture.

Many famous architects use wood as a building material thereby giving this traditional material a modern application. ARCHIWOOD competition aims to bring together the most interesting examples of this practice.
